This is interesting; similarity to Kurds has been noted in the past, but Druze and Cypriots, I would hazard a guess, is due to convergence rather than common ancestry--in other words, Jews and these groups partake of similar mixtures of European, Middle Eastern, Iranian, Anatolian etc ancestry---doesn't help much explaining the history of R2...
