This is really interesting
By using the YPredictor: http://predictor.ydna.ru

226085   (Saudi Arabia)                                     Haplogroup: R2a1*-L295(xL294)             Probability 98%
M6913   (Saudi Arabia ??)                                  Haplogroup: R2a1*-L295(xL294)             Probability 85%
151319   (United Arab Emirates)                       Haplogroup: R2a1*-L295(xL294)             Probability 90%
235768   (Saudi Arabia)                                    Haplogroup: R2a1a-L294                          Probability 80%
234700   (Arab Origin - Sharifs DNA Project)     Haplogroup: R2a1-L295                            Probability 97%
M7355     (Arab Origin - Sharifs DNA Project)    Haplogroup:  R2a*-M124(xL295)              Probability 100%

Lets wait for the SNP results and see how accurate it is!

I have noticed in many cases the YPredictor http://predictor.ydna.ru gives false prediction regarding the status to the L295 SNP.

Also worth to mention that DYS497 for kit 226085 is 15, which goes well with what we said about 13 = L295+ so far.

Kit 234700 tested L295+.

Good news!!

239090 is L294-, L295+, L723+, L724-, L725-, M124+
That means the L723 SNP is located above (L724 & L725).

The GD between Kit# 239090 and the Simpsons who are also L723+ is between 26/67 and 29/67 which make the L273 SNP to be large enough to define a new subclade (eg. R2a1b).

Should I order the L723 test? I did L722 (+) and L724 (-) so far.

Hello, Journeyman

Yes you are recommended to order the L723 SNP Test.

In order to request the ISOGG [ http://www.isogg.org/tree/ISOGG_HapgrpR.html ] to add a new subclade (R2a1b) for the L723 SNP, we need at least two samples from each group:

1- R2a1* (L295+, L294-, L723-)
Kit# 70778         (It meets the requirements)
Kit# 20461         (It meets the requirements)

2- R2a1a (L295+, L294+, L723-)
Kit# N85176      (Missing SNP = L723)
Kit# 164192      (Missing SNP = L723)
Kit# N2381        (Missing SNP = L723)

3- (L295+, L723+, L294-)
Kit# 239090      (It meets the requirements)
Kit# 114870      (It meets the requirements)
Kit# 112058      (It meets the requirements)

Even though that the N85176, 164192, and the N2381 kits are expected to be L723-, we still need to fulfill the ISOGG requirements in order to request them to add a new subclade for the L723 SNP.

A donation for the two SNPs  ($29+$29=$58) will speed up the formation of the new subclade (R2a1b).

My L723 result came back and it is negative (probably expected?)

Hey guys,

I hope everyone is doing well, I haven't had much time to check the forums much lately. I was traveling and was out in Dubai and Saudi for a bit. Any updates? I see last post was like almost a month ago.

Looking forward to the updates :-D

As I was browsing FTDNA, I noticed R2a kit 216088 (Surname - de Souza / Manuel Francisco de Souza, 1767 - 1831 / Portugal) carried the L-294 SNP:

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Souza/default.aspx?section=yresults
http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Souza/default.aspx?section=ysnp

At 37 markers this individual's genetic distance from the other 3 Armenian L-294 samples is over 20. Which makes L-294 (R2a1a) a very ancient SNP.

Hey Birko19,

Nice finding !

In addition to what you mentioned, Kit# 216088  is from Portugal.
Therefore, the origin of R-294 (R2a1a) is no longer only Anatolian.

He's added to the R2-M124-WTY project now.

Kit# 216088 is 4/37 GD from kit #N81759 (L295+)                 -- India
Kit# 216088 is 15/37 GD from kit#N38706 (L295+, M124+)   -- India
Kit# 216088 is 15/37 GD from kit#72460 (M124+)                 -- Scotland
Kit# 216088 is 15/37 GD from kit#235483 (M124+)               -- Kazakhstan

It is recommended for N81759 and N38706 to test for the L294 SNP
It is recommended for 72460 and 235483 to test for the L295 SNP first, then the L294 SNP.

Hey guys ,

I am back out here in the UAE. I am trying to get more of my family to test out here.

Good find birko! So does the mean that L-294 has another origin point?

Any markers I should test for or am I okay for now?

Thanks guys and happy new years to you all.
